Pilar Corrias Gallery is situated at the south end of the legendary Savile Row in London. It is a space designed as much for contemporary art as for the life that surrounds it, with a public facing ground floor in the spirit of the original townhouses of Savile Row. The renovation of this historic property is aimed at creating a soft boundary between the art inside the gallery and the street life outside.

The interior of the gallery is designed as a sequence of spaces with slightly different character, with a symmetrical, skylit atrium as the focal point at the far end of the space. A checkerboard stone floor in the front space contrasts with a solid oak herringbone floor in the rest of the gallery.

The front facade of the gallery has been meticulously restored to its original 1730s glory, with the addition of a contemporary sign in fine bronze. It is a respectful addition to a building which is otherwise designed to bring back the original character of 18th-century townhouses, whose ground floor spaces were often part of the city life - the soft boundaries between public and private.
